CS:GO player zweih has revealed that scammers have stolen 2,500,000 rubles (approximately $25,000 USD) from him.
In a statement, zweih acknowledged that the chances of recovering the money are slim, calling it "an unlucky but good life lesson." He noted that fortunately the stolen amount represented less than 21% of his total funds.
"Thank you all for trying to help, always be vigilant and careful on the internet," zweih wrote, adding that he and his team are now moving on to prepare for Cache.
The incident serves as a reminder for esports professionals and community members to remain cautious about online security threats and potential scams targeting players.
